Walls

Plasterboard walls generally consist of a load-bearing framework of sheet metal profiles (C-profiles), onto which plasterboard sheets are screwed on both sides. The cavity is usually filled with mineral wool to improve sound insulation.

If plasterboard sheets are mounted on a substructure on a wall made of another material, it is called a cladding. Claddings offer the possibility to mount additional layers (insulation) or installations on a wall first and then to cover them with the plasterboard sheets. Claddings are often used for sound insulation.

Installation walls serve as a visual barrier for installation lines.

In this variant, the plasterboard sheets are glued to existing walls and usually serve for beautification purposes.
